Rediscovering Paul
IVP has listed our textbook (written by Capes, Reeves, and Richards) as a future release on their website. "Rediscovering Paul" is supposed to come out the end of October/beginning of November. Getting some good reviews. Looking forward to seeing what readers think. I'll be using it this Fall for Early Pauline Epistles.

Is this a book primarily on the so-called "New Perspective on Paul" to use Sanders' term?

I don't really know Daryl or JR but I'm going to jump on the self-defense bandwagon. As one whose pacifism has not yet been completely formed, the one concern is when we must defend either ourselves, or as my father constantly brings up in this discussion my family. His response is that as a father, he would do anything to keep his wife or children from harm.
So, as a parent, would you advocate using violence to save the life of your kids.
I know that this is a complete hypothetical, but ethics discussions usually devolve into hypotheticals because we are testing the limits of a theory. Is this where non-violence falls apart?
